Theological treatment of God's people sent forth into mission and gifts for ministry combine with a theoretical consideration of the nature of adult education, the leader's role, and the components in this educational curriculum.  The two emerge in an educational process that emphasizes the discovery of individual gifts for ministry.  The learnings chapter examines the project suggesting a theological approach that begins with and emphasizes mission.  Gifts become resources for ministry, discovered as a person becomes engaged in mission. God calls each person into active Christian service, including the service of leadership as a part of God's redeeming act of creation.  The set of gifts God gives to those elected to serve on Session may be used to the spiritual advantage and growth of that particular Session and congregation.  Nine elders spent four months studying Bible passages related to spiritual gifts.
