A model in ministry was developed to authenticate this project."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128927534579712,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:07:35.562Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:39:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:03:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"184b6101-befd-412d-bf43-f0365e6fc958","accessControl_ssim":["ec66e4f0-9ff4-45a9-bdb0-40b2e025d070"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching law/gospel theology in a postmodern world"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:39:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:50:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d7f7e6ec-dce2-46ba-96d3-4ecf40c0feff"],"hasLease_ssim":["1ec97e6a-1ea1-4934-b98c-77cd9d75e215"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Michael Rogness"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Nathan P Sager"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Postmodernism","Law and gospel","Lutheran preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis is that 'preaching Law and Gospel can be strengthened by rethinking the traditional categories in response to the challenges of the contemporary context.'  The first part of this study describes the Lutheran homiletical theology of Law and Gospel from the perspective of Scripture, the writings of Martin Luther, and writings in the Lutheran tradition that suggest new applications of Law and Gospel.  The second part offers a Law/Gospel theology of preaching in light of these characteristics of postmodernism: constructed interpretation, feelings over reason, pessimism, the supernatural, and connectedness. The original Oremus was built around the Daily Prayer Cycle.  The initial vision for the new edition was to retain several of the Daily Offices, but broaden it to include contemporary hymns, texts and prayers written by students and campus ministry staff.  Early in the project the question arose as to whether one generation can write a worship resource for another generation.  Therefore, the editorial process included an extensive questionnaire that was sent to regional officers of the Lutheran Student Movement, (successor to the LSAA), along with a draft of Oremus, which they were to respond to on the questionnaire along with their local worshipping communities. The thesis includes an assessment of the responses, as well as theological and sociological foundations for the final edition of Oremus, which is now in its second printing."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130436546592768,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:31:34.667Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":89,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Brian D Mundt","hits":2,"label":"Brian D Mundt"},{"value":"Alan A Hendrickson","hits":1,"label":"Alan A Hendrickson"},{"value":"Amos L Gimbi","hits":1,"label":"Amos L Gimbi"},{"value":"Andre B Heuer","hits":1,"label":"Andre B Heuer"},{"value":"Archibald James Pell","hits":1,"label":"Archibald James Pell"},{"value":"Armin R Heidmann","hits":1,"label":"Armin R Heidmann"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Religious surveys","hits":6,"label":"Religious surveys"},{"value":"Relation (Theology)","hits":2,"label":"Relation (Theology)"},{"value":"Theology, Lutheran","hits":2,"label":"Theology, Lutheran"},{"value":"Accreditation (Churches)","hits":1,"label":"Accreditation (Churches)"},{"value":"Catholic Church--Doctrine","hits":1,"label":"Catholic Church--Doctrine"},{"value":"Congregations--Internal conflict","hits":1,"label":"Congregations--Internal conflict"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Lutheran Church","hits":10,"label":"Lutheran Church"},{"value":"Church work","hits":7,"label":"Church work"},{"value":"Pastoral counseling","hits":7,"label":"Pastoral counseling"},{"value":"Pastoral theology","hits":7,"label":"Pastoral theology"},{"value":"Church work with older people","hits":5,"label":"Church work with older people"},{"value":"Clergy","hits":5,"label":"Clergy"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"Africa","hits":1,"label":"Africa"},{"value":"Argentina","hits":1,"label":"Argentina"},{"value":"Brazil","hits":1,"label":"Brazil"},{"value":"Iowa","hits":1,"label":"Iowa"},{"value":"Latin America","hits":1,"label":"Latin America"},{"value":"New Mexico","hits":1,"label":"New Mexico"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":89,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Luther Seminary","hits":89,"label":"Luther Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":89,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1981","hits":7,"label":"1981"},{"value":"1983","hits":7,"label":"1983"},{"value":"1984","hits":6,"label":"1984"},{"value":"1982","hits":5,"label":"1982"},{"value":"1986","hits":5,"label":"1986"},{"value":"1987","hits":5,"label":"1987"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Miscellaneous","hits":89,"label":"Miscellaneous"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":89,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Luther Seminary","hits":89,"label":"Luther Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":89,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":9,"next_page":null,"prev_page":8,"total_pages":9,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":80,"total_count":89,"first_page?":false,"last_page?":true}}}
