The particular focus is teletex, text transmitted by computer and telephone.  Communications theory is used to place this medium in context with other media.  ECUNET, an ecumenical teletex system, is explored to see if the theological and media presuppositions work in practice. We are now preaching to a generation of 'Sesame Street kids,' whose preferred medium is the screen.  Literate preachers are being forced to become more 'electronic'.  Electronic preaching does not mean subsutituting electronic media for human speech, but embodying the Word as thoroughly as possible--in the preacher, the listeners, and the biblical characters.
