The hypothesis was that when the rural church closes the gap between personal use of media-technology and the use of media-technology in ministry, the result would result in growth.  This project was composed of three stages: recruiting rural clergy and church leaders (Elders/Deacons, Christian Education, Music), having these individuals complete a survey, and obtaining feedback in the form of focus groups.  The recruitment phase provided helpful information from the pastors through completion of the survey as well as submitting names of their leaders.  The second phase helped the researcher obtain the data necessary to formulate accurate detailed information. The author, therefore, sought for healthy models among growing churches in such settings and studied their common characteristics. Twenty-one possible growth dynamics were identified and eleven churches were studied to ascertain which of these dynamics were common to them and to what degree they might account for growth. Fifteen characteristics were found to contribute to the growth of churches and nine of these emerged as significant. Four main studies were included: the study of prayer's impact upon family evangelism; the effectiveness of having a 'family ties' sermon series and a family outreach Sunday; a look at some barriers to rural evangelism; and the effectiveness of specific training in household evangelism through a retreat format. He designed a questionnaire on the Likert Response model to measure commitment, fellowship, power, change, unity and values. This instrument was used as a pre-test and a post-test. His treatment involved a sermon series, a core group and a congregational retreat.  The data reveals that congregational unity increased during the implementation.
