This project presents an efficient and effective methodology for the mid-sized pastorate based upon five principles discerned by the researcher from studying the preparation process of fifteen pastors who were identified as excellent preachers. Ethnographic research was employed for the project and included a survey, interviews, a peer panel and self-testing of the methods. A survey of listener needs was given to identify sermon topics.  From the survey three sermons were selected and developed by the pastor and a small group called the Parish Project Group (PPG).  Following each sermon a congregational feedback meeting was conducted to determine how the sermons were received by those attending.
