It studies how the Yoruba culture, arts, traditions, theology, and philosophy affect preaching. It asks how to use such elements to produce positive results according to Christian ideals. The study includes eight sessions of field work where participants are exposed to the aspects of Yoruba Christian worship. The project then considers research on Yoruba Christian history, customs and practices. Many participants returned evaluation forms. These ceremonies are dynamic and energizing. They are the deepest level of life where God's presence is celebrated. Ordained and non-ordained church members need to come to grips with the theological implications of the ceremonies and increase skills for public leadership of ceremonies. Barriers which prevent many non-ordained persons from full participation are examined. The project involved questionnaires, worshops, retreats and an evaluation. The ministry on worship department worked closely with the pastor. Self-esteem is one issue that must be taken into account as the congregation seeks to involve the non-ordained in public ceremonies. The involvement of the non-ordained is not only a theological issue but a recognition of the gifts and intelligence of all believers in the fellowship."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715154034688000,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:41:59.250Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:13:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4d8e1e30-7c3a-4b74-be4c-9e7ac2c2de59","accessControl_ssim":["820e1bef-0b27-4326-850c-e993717e2d42"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Liberation theology: church through the prism of the poor"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:37:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:24:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["17c417bd-bb72-4db6-8526-3a22c1ec1d72"],"hasLease_ssim":["b84de906-d58b-4e8a-81a0-9b56b39c5f86"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pacific School of Religion"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"location_tesim":["Latin America"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Shaun O'Meara"],"publisher_tesim":["Pacific School of Religion"],"subject_tesim":["Catholic Church","Poor and the church","Theology","Catholic Church--Social teachings","Church and the world","Basic Christian communities","Liberation theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["There is a connection between the birth and development of Latin American liberation theology and the social teaching of the Roman Catholic Church as it has developed during the past century. The project analyzes the internal articulations and variations of the Free Will Baptists as well as their relationships to other Baptist groups.
