Methodology consisted of working with a group of volunteer chaplains and nursing staff for training and evaluation and empahsizing the role of team work in wholistic health care."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716017323114496,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:55:42.546Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:55:20Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:29:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3a20c3b5-5d93-4731-be9f-4a73b50c4c19","accessControl_ssim":["6f90bdcd-d472-4142-854d-d573cbc1582e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Listening to sermons: the influence of three listening variations upon information gain, attitude change, and concept modification"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:55:19Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:48:59Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["67f638d1-6616-49bb-9996-6ab1ff2b47bc"],"hasLease_ssim":["c459a323-5fb6-4960-b6db-e974cc7fb7bb"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Harold E Hatt"],"year_tesim":["1985"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Phillip L Cory"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Holy Spirit","Preaching--Study and teaching","Wesleyan Church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project tests how the use of three listening variations, while listening to sermons, influence information gain, attitude change, and concept modification. The project addresses two issues.  The first is the lack of theological hermeneutics in most mainline Protestants.  The second is a personal need within the author to rework his own understanding of christology.  The education model utilized David Ausabel's 'advance organizer' model because of its techniques of imparting large blocks of new information, and Thomas Groome's 'shared praxis' approach because of its techniques of hooking the inner story of the participant into the story being taught.  As evaluation, class members were tested for content, acceptance of controversial issues, and the adequacy of the education model.  The results were mixed, but with a favorable enough response to the process to merit further uses."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714862061846528,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:37:20.803Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":128,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"A Alton Beaver","hits":1,"label":"A Alton Beaver"},{"value":"Adam P Harmon","hits":1,"label":"Adam P Harmon"},{"value":"Alan E Gatewood","hits":1,"label":"Alan E Gatewood"},{"value":"Bailey P Phelps","hits":1,"label":"Bailey P Phelps"},{"value":"Barbara B Lemke","hits":1,"label":"Barbara B Lemke"},{"value":"Barbara Wilkins-Crowder","hits":1,"label":"Barbara Wilkins-Crowder"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Church and community","hits":2,"label":"Church and community"},{"value":"Congregations--Internal conflict","hits":2,"label":"Congregations--Internal conflict"},{"value":"Tests and measurements in religion","hits":2,"label":"Tests and measurements in religion"},{"value":"Boats and boating--Religious aspects","hits":1,"label":"Boats and boating--Religious aspects"},{"value":"Clergy--Performance standards","hits":1,"label":"Clergy--Performance standards"},{"value":"Congregations--Self-examination","hits":1,"label":"Congregations--Self-examination"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Christian education","hits":9,"label":"Christian education"},{"value":"Church work","hits":9,"label":"Church work"},{"value":"Congregations","hits":9,"label":"Congregations"},{"value":"Clergy","hits":8,"label":"Clergy"},{"value":"Pastoral counseling","hits":8,"label":"Pastoral counseling"},{"value":"Pastoral theology","hits":8,"label":"Pastoral theology"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"United States","hits":2,"label":"United States"},{"value":"Oklahoma--Edmond","hits":1,"label":"Oklahoma--Edmond"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":128,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":128,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":128,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1984","hits":15,"label":"1984"},{"value":"1985","hits":14,"label":"1985"},{"value":"1986","hits":12,"label":"1986"},{"value":"1981","hits":9,"label":"1981"},{"value":"1982","hits":6,"label":"1982"},{"value":"2002","hits":6,"label":"2002"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":128,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":128,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Phillips Theological Seminary","hits":128,"label":"Phillips Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":128,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":7,"next_page":8,"prev_page":6,"total_pages":13,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":60,"total_count":128,"first_page?":false,"last_page?":false}}}
