Three critical moments punctuate the account: the first was when growing appreciation of God's sovereignty provoked the reconception of the original title 'What is the Holy Spirit doing in the church?'; the second was when a large portion of the congregation mutinied; the third was when the working hypothesis, of a network of renewal,  failed.
