Where two or more are gathered together as the Body of Christ there are differing opinions and the potential for conflict. The author researched the biblical, theological and spiritual perspectives of the process and ministry of reconciliation. The research culminated in a study of reconciliation with members of a non-conflictual church. The result of the study was two-fold. The participants acquired a detailed definition and understanding of the process of reconciliation from a personal perspective as well as within the church. The author organized and led the related practical project with was a series of reflection sessions on the characteristics of New Testament Community and how these informed what it means 'to be' the Church today. the related preaching for Sunday worship concurrent with these reflection sessions was on the Bible as story in the Acts of the Apostles and the Gospels of Mark. This project was the first step towards achieveing the larger vision of these congregations as pro-active communities of loving relationships, with God, each other and the whole created order, who are called to witness to the Gospel in a continually changing society and culture."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127271383236608,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:41:16.133Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:05:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:47:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e12b416e-35dd-4610-8f32-2363917c1add","accessControl_ssim":["bffa9501-0b68-4590-ad2a-680b46e64c24"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Coaching for Christ: developing a coaching program for novice adult Christians in a Lutheran congregation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:05:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:34:38Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d2801e18-389d-4b28-b3d0-5c059e8d265a"],"hasLease_ssim":["573204d6-30e0-4bdc-a377-deda786ac78a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Andrew Purves"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Peter J Naschke"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christian education of adults","Church membership"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project develops a new program to coach novice Christian in their faith, and to incorporate them into the life of a Lutheran congregation. The author researched the scriptural, theological and patristical foundations for baptism and attempted a program which involved personal spiritual renewal through a rule of prayer, participation in the liturgical life of the church, Christian education and almsgiving ministries.
