Case studies involving tragic bereavement through suicide by drowning with no body to grieve over; pre-natal bereavement of embryo twins; and a neo-natal death of a seven day old baby are presented. The project consisted in the preparation of the congregation through a series of sermons and the training and commissioning of eight volunteers to share in the work of the clergy. The paper also looked at how the social supports of the past were being eroded as the society became more developed. The initial response of the congregation suggests that such a model has potential but will need time to be fully effective."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127597235568640,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:46:26.890Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:12:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:46:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d48216ad-e23b-4a08-9319-fe2c21e54573","accessControl_ssim":["ea39ee33-6cf7-4be0-99ab-2897372347d2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Making all things new: worshipping and learning for a new generation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:12:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:12:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4bb9695b-7855-4e30-a7b1-6bc7f3cfe871"],"hasLease_ssim":["d7da21c0-39f0-473d-9493-77b1db818abe"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John Burgess"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Judith H Weger"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Rural churches","Evangelistic work","Church work with youth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["As churches face the need to make changes in their programs to revitalize their ministry, decisions must be made as to ways to reach the unchurched in their communities. There were twelve couples in attendance, four already married between 6 months and thirty years and eight unmarried couples. The couples already married enjoyed sharing and caught some of the enthusiasm from the couples preparing for marriage, while the unmarried couples enjoyed the mix as well. The author believes that the marriage rite best expresses the theology of marriage in the Orthodox Church, and makes a very good 'text book' for marriage preparation. During the retreat, we began with an introduction offering an Orthodox vision of marriage, followed by a line by line study of the rite. Communication skills were also taught, using the theology expressed in the rite. The couples agreed that the marriage rite offered a good context for marriage preparation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720704793378816,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:10:12.866Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":275,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
