The hypotheses were that those trained in lifestyle evangelism would report more witnessing encounters and time spent in prayer for the lost than those trained in traditional evangelism. The data for this study was taken from weekly evangelism surveys filed by each student participating in the study. Research was performed in the area of public opinion, and an educational brochure was administered to a sample of fifty subjects along with a pre-test and post-test in the form of an opinion survey. During a three-month worship workshop, questionnaires and interviews were administered.  The data indicated improvements in understanding and profit from worship.  Preparation for worship was realized to be essential for true, profitable worship.  The study concludes that worship education should be included in church curriculums. The pastor and session proposed a hypothesis which was that the establishment of a positive sense of self-worth, which would come about as a result of better self-understanding, agreement of purpose and setting of goals, would reverse the decline.  The hypothesis was measured by surveys. Visible increased activity was noted as was a stronger financial picture, as well. A twelve-week, supervised, self-study course was designed to deal with this need.  The course consisted of twelve weekly themes presented in cassette tape lessons, each one divided into five daily sub-topics; a workbook; and a transcript of the tapes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Christians who underwent four weeks of christo-cybernetic therapy would self-report significantly less depression than Christians who did not. The dissertation will analyze various philosophies of ministry which lead to producing imbalanced disciples of Christ, study the First Epistle of John for Biblical principles of balanced discipleship, observe historical precedents from the Reformed tradition, critique some present day discipleship approaches, summarize a survey of church and parachurch ministry leaders and finally, propose some solutions for the thesis question.
