That decline corresponds to a social shift from print-based culture to dominance of electronic media. Viable witness in the twenty-first century will depend on dynamic interaction between denominational tradition, the larger church, and contemporary society. The project analyzes congregational innovations that blend what is central to Reformed worship with liturgical styles from the 'creative,' 'praise and worship,' and 'high liturgical' traditions, using a participant-observer study method.  The underlying theological and liturgical question raised by each blended liturgy centers around the Reformed notion of 'freedom in form.' How much freedom is allowable? How much form is required? Korean Americans should develop worship and eucharistic forms that agree with Korean tradition and culture and harmonize with the Korean psyche. The author suggests that Korean immigrant churches should develop a Eucharist that is both contextual and based on the World Council of Churches' document Baptism, Eucharist and ministry.
