The author created and led a six-week study with a rural and urban group using Thomas Groome and Walter Wink's paradigm.  The experience was significant for most participants.  Intimacy and joy grew over the study period.  Women may have difficulty articulating how they sensed the presence of God, but will struggle to do so.  A supportive group offers healing possibilities as we link our faith to our stories of daily life."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721116620554240,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:16:45.615Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:18:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:04:27Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2c9de545-9e5f-4168-9d6c-a64767b01028","accessControl_ssim":["538d30b1-aa72-44d9-85ed-dd37c7f33a71"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A feminist response to the eucharist section of Baptism, Eucharist and Ministry (BEM) of the World Council of Churches"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:18:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:25:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ade86228-6d23-414c-95a3-04a916b9e791"],"hasLease_ssim":["5c2fa67e-4a6a-4273-9db4-ff6bbdca19f0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Antoinette C Wire"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Renate S Rose"],"keyword_tesim":["Feminist theology"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Women--Religious life","Words of Jesus Christ","Baptism, Eucharist and Church work (Document)","Lord's Supper"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The Eucharist has traditionally been attached to the so-called 'words of institution.'  Historical critical methods show that these words are post-resurrection creations of early ecclesial communities.  The historical Jesus did not 'institute' a ritual and sacrament to his memory.  Analysis of fragments from the Q community, the Didache, the Gospels of John and Luke and Paul's community of Corinth sets the framework for the analysis of the BEM document and LIMA liturgy of the W.C.C. An historical study, it begins with an overview of EATWOT, showing the marginal role of its women members. Consequently, the women formed a commission within EATWOT with its own program of 'doing theology from the perspective of Third World women.'  The rest of the chapters focus on the growth of the women's theological consciousness, first corporately through the work of the commission, then individually through the separate stories of eight of its members.  The final chapters analyze the factors that helped or hindered the growth, assess the women's contribution to theology, and suggest the future work to be done by EATWOT and the women's commission."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716860866854912,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:09:07.012Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Patrice S Bittner-Humphreys","hits":1,"label":"Patrice S Bittner-Humphreys"},{"value":"Renate S Rose","hits":1,"label":"Renate S Rose"},{"value":"Virginia Fabella","hits":1,"label":"Virginia Fabella"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Feminist theology","hits":1,"label":"Feminist theology"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Women--Religious life","hits":3,"label":"Women--Religious life"},{"value":"Baptism, Eucharist and Church work (Document)","hits":1,"label":"Baptism, Eucharist and Church work (Document)"},{"value":"Developing countries","hits":1,"label":"Developing countries"},{"value":"Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians","hits":1,"label":"Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians"},{"value":"Lord's Supper","hits":1,"label":"Lord's Supper"},{"value":"Storytelling--Religious aspects--Christianity","hits":1,"label":"Storytelling--Religious aspects--Christianity"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1991","hits":1,"label":"1991"},{"value":"1992","hits":1,"label":"1992"},{"value":"1995","hits":1,"label":"1995"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"San Francisco Theological Seminary","hits":3,"label":"San Francisco Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
