A pre-test and post-test evaluation compared a study group and a control group.  Some participants showed marked improvement on cognitive and attitudinal scores.  For the most part, improvement in both cognitive learning and attitudinal change was modest.  The study group demonstrated a stronger understanding and commitment to these biblical teachings than the author had anticipated. The project also explores the role of communication in ministry to those in grief. Research for the project included the exploration of relevant literature, the pastoral experience of the author, and analysis of crises encountered during training events.
