The intent of this project is to create an environment of transformation for the development of virtuous leaders at Crosspoint Church in Hemet, California.  This project, therefore, developed lectures on the creation ordinances of Genesis, the wisdom sayings of Proverbs, the beatitudes of Matthew's gospel, and the key vice and virtue lists of the New Testament.  The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments. The workshop was developed and implemented by the author in cooperation with Ecuadorian leadership during a two-year term from July, 1999, to June, 2001. Questionnaires and interviews were used to evaluate the outcome. They indicated significant involvement in discipling as much as two years after the workshop. The big story can be obscured by over emphasizing the moral lessons to be learned on the Old Testament narratives as well as by wrongly reading Jesus into passages in ways that are not fair. Instead, this project develops sermons for the fall semester of 2006 that attempted to demonstrate the Christological center of the Bible and it was informed by academic research. They can be combined with evangelism to form the outreach ministry of the church to its community.  Various Chinese churches in different countries have used this model of sharing the love and the gospel of Christ through evangelism and social services.  The focus of this project is the development of a community ministry plan for a Chinese church in Canada.  The author surveyed over a hundred and fifty Chinese churches in eastern Canada and conducted in-depth interviews with four of the churches with community ministry.  Furthermore, three community service organizations in Ottawa where the author's church is located were interviewed in order to better assess the needs of the community.  Based on the findings of the research, a plan is developed to implement community ministry. Participants described the content, mode and personnel involved in their training, and gave suggestions for improvements, most rating it adequate for what they encountered, and indicating increased interest in long-term service. The project's methodology includes three goals: (1) to gain insight through a sampling survey; (2) to generate a set of aims for balancing content and application; (3) to preach twelve messages from Ephesians that model a balanced approach and to have six of those messages evaluated by church members. It is therefore legitimate and helpful for the preacher of God's Word to design response times that encourage the congregation to hear and obey the biblical truth being taught. In this study the author seeks to demonstrate that while there is freedom to create response times at the conclusion of a message, there are guidelines which need to be considered. This project examined biblical and extra-biblical texts, contemporary leadership and management materials on servant leadership and input from churches operating with the Carver policy governance model for their governing board for application to the elder board of First Evangelical Free Church of Maplewood, Minnesota. Category sets of governing policies and elder selection and screening materials were developed. This project consisted of developing six lessons on prayer principles that would help train church members to grow in praying through growth barriers. Surveys were taken, classes were held and follow-up steps were implemented to pray through growth barriers.
