The project addressed the need that many if not most churches in sending countries and those in mission fields call for true spiritual, holistic and contextualized worship to facilitate missions.  Further, contemporary worship and praise movements pose a challenge in the examination of relevance for missions.  The author represented the results in a workbook, which was evaluated by twelve missionaries. Worldview affects the cognitive, affective, and volitive center of a person, and therefore Christian ministry should seek to effect changes at the level of worldview.  Among Chinese intellectuals the May Fourth Movement at the beginning of the twentieth century initiated profound changes in worldview.  This project proposes that this moment in history Christians could effect a massive worldview change among contemporary Chinese intellectuals. Among them are three large and well-known churches--Nairobi Pentecostal Church, founded by Canadian missionaries; St Andrew Presbyterian Church, founded by Scottish missionaries; and All Saints Anglican Cathedral, founded by English missionaries.  While elite, multiethnic Christian national members of these churches, many of whom are beneficiaries of the long missionary presence, begin to catch the missionary vision, it is necessary to explore and examine, on the basis of Christology, some of the factors that have kept them from a missionary vocation. It is shown that missionary zeal would not be undermined if we hold that God could accept these, and that stronger motivation can come from the love of Christ and the command of Christ. First, the biblical and historical context which impelled the Methodists to mission is surveyed.  Then a critical examination is made of the theology of missionary motivation of Wesley and some of his followers. Finally, the essential elements for the construction of a theology of missionary motivation are presented. George Fox is a Christian Quaker liberal arts institution located near Portland, Oregon.  The missionary training track at George Fox is focused upon an interdisciplinary international studies program which takes a liberal arts approach to education.
