The three basic approaches to assisting patients solve their addiction problem--psychological, physiological, and theological are presented. The psychological and physiological approaches are mentioned to provide a brief exposure to them. The theological method is covered in detail. This is the primary approach of the pastor working in treatment. The workshop helped these leaders investigate this tool to determine if they would like to pursue its use and offered assistance in how to find a spiritual direction relationship. A handbook entitled the Beginner's guide to spiritual direction relationships (SDR) is included which workshop participants read along with attending eight sessions to discuss the handbook and other topics related to SDR. It is our conviction that those whose ministry it is to make disciples of Jesus Christ need to be helped in making sure they are attending to becoming disciples themselves. This project proposes an assimilation plan based on adult Sunday school classes reorganized into life stage communities. These communities will provide a network of care and ministry. Eleven classes were involved. Two of the classes were chosen to pilot the plan. Of the remaining nine classes, six embraced the plan in a limited manner and three resisted change. We chose to become involved in T-NET with the hope that we could better equip our participating leaders to understand and carry out their responsibility to guide and serve the church. Early in the process we sensed the need to adjust and this paper records the reorientation of our thinking on the priorities of ministry. Chapter one covers how e developed disciplemaking values in our church using the phases of discipleship evident in the ministry of Jesus. Chapter two describes and assesses our leadership training model. Chapter three contains an honest look at our outreach groups and an extensive description of our launch of a new Adult Bible Fellowship. The final chapter estimates the number of groups that Riverview will need as we continue to develop our ministry. Revival is defined and the need for it is considered from current literature and information gathered from a survey of 343 pastors in the city. revival in the Scripture is studied, concluding that the context and content of 2 Chr 7:14 is its core. ten characteristics of biblical revival are identified and traced through the Scripture and five counterparts in history.
