Through action research and narrative inquiry, critical events in the workplace journeys of individuals are heard, recorded, and evaluated in test groups. Results show that as the storytellers gained new insight through recalling and reflecting on workplace episodes, test groups found their stories effective in stimulating meaningful dialog on work. From this project, a narrative pathway paradigm has emerged to identify, record and disseminate workplace testimonies as a small group curriculum. This Pentecostal church is primarily composed of immigrants mostly from Africa and the Caribbean Islands. After struggling to establish a small group ministry, the congregation and leaddership were consulted through conversations, interviews and surveys resulting in a more flexible, focused, and situation-sensitive model. The purpose of this small group ministry is to build a community of disciples nurtured by Bible study and prayer, connected with the church through their leaders, who minister to the needs of those within and beyond the group.
