This project, which was aimed at helping members come to this understanding, was a four-part process.  These four groups of experiences were: eleven meetings with project associates that looked at the church, its context, biblical images of the church and development of a theological statement; three congregational experiences; development of a mission statement and goals; and implementation of these goals. The method used to achieve this involvement was small group scripture study, sharing, personal goal-setting, exposure to relational evangelism, and worship planning. One workshop and a sermon series were used in the test congregation to transform the church into a more inclusive faith community.  The results of the post-test questionnaire showed that attitudes and assumptions of the test congregation have been transformed. The construction process presented natural opportunities to encourage change while the parishioners concretely considered their comprehensive needs. A newly formed committee met monthly to reflect upon congregational renewal in five areas: worship, youth ministry, guest friendliness, outreach, and community relations. They also planned worship programming to transition from the former to the new church facility. Interviews, surveys, and the planned church services revealed that renewal had been initiated in the five areas.
