It concentrated on the way situations of conflict are handled within those relationships.  A context was created in which four family groups could examine their relationship and analyze their interactions and the effect their behavior had on family life. Participants engaged in a variety of experiences over seven sessions while using such analytical tools as the Thomas-Kihlmann Conflict Mode instrument. The hypothesis was that youth perceptions of a local congregation will change measurably if personal needs assessment, coordination of youth activities and establishment of a central youth forum are undertaken by the leadership on behalf of young people.  The project involved five distinct methods: 1) a needs assessment, 2) the recruiting of volunteers, 3) the preparation of the volunteers for ministry, 4) the development of a youth council, 5) an evaluation of effectiveness.  Pre- and post-project evaluation showed that youth perceptions of the parish became more 'positive'. In this project, the author, a judicatory executive, designs and conducts a six-month intervention for testing several assumptions regarding his role with churches, pastors, and lay people within the context of the covenantal polity of the United Church of Christ. The method used to develop the model followed two designs: the use of a survey questionnaire, and the interaction with and observation of a group of twelve pastors and interns. Together these sources suggested a type of supervision which focused on administration of congregational life and program, pastoral care, social ministry, stewardship, enabling lay ministry, and which experienced the supervisory relationship as one of working together and planning jointly. The context of the study is marital therapy.  The possibility of denominalizing commonly used theological terms in the context of marital therapy hopes to give each member of the union additional choices over his-her communication and reconciliatory processes.  Evaluation of this experiment was pursued by subjective means with an emphasis on clinical observation.
