Christian spirituality is an intimate encounter with God, the source of change and maturity as a gift of God 's grace. Spiritual formation is a lifelong process, and adolescence is a valuable time to prepare for the spiritual formation. In Korean society, however, youths are suffering from spiritual and psychological poverty due to the college entrance exam-centered educational system and losing the opportunity of spiritual formation. With this conviction he examined the conditions of the Korean Church and the local church, the Bok-Ji church, he was serving as a senior pastor, and found that the church had too much focused on the side of individual salvation with paying little attention to joining the universal salvific work of God. At the end of his thesis, based on his Wesleyan belief and his pastoral experience, the researcher proposed on how a local church can operate its social welfare ministry successfully. A number of at-risk youth were used for this project.  The research was done through qualitative studies, evaluations, counseling, spiritual training, and mentoring by parents, teachers, counselors and church leaders. In this reality, this paper is a practical product of applying the principles of the youth revival discovered in 'the revival of the Bible,' 'the natural church development theory,' and 'the great revival movement of the Korean church' to the youth division of Hwado Methodist Church for the revival. Shame must be attended to, or ita has the probability of manifesting in many harmful ways. Healing shame-based personalities is a sure way to find healing and wholeness. Shame is a deep social problem leading even more so to profound social, emotional and personality disorders. The purpose of this research is to bring attention to the plight of African American adolescent males and their problems with shame. The participant-observation method of research was used to create a model connecting the creative arts, the church and community groups that work with at-risk children and youth by making collaborative story quilts.
