By examining the historical case of Briggs v. Elliott and the present-day situation of county schools, the author found schools are technically desegregated but are far from integrated. Ninety-eight percent of the students are African-American. In present day Summerton, separate still exists and equality remains just out of grasp. Within the context of the priesthood-of-the-believer doctrine, this means that, as priests who share in the privileges of righteousness because of our relationship to Christ, Christians must incorporate the commensurate responsibilities for faithful living and service. A local church educator should provide a Christian education plan that fosters faith maturity and is indigenous to resources, holistic in strategy, and balanced in scope. The project presents a model for Redland Baptist Church and a generative plan for Southern Baptist churches."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715187312295936,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:42:30.986Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:46:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:39:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1705c074-08bc-4686-a4eb-eacaafcbbb64","accessControl_ssim":["9687b80b-8fbd-45fc-afca-7daca4a15984"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The church's response to marriage and family: life problems in contemporary Kenya"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:46:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:48:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ebd85184-ecb7-4782-a972-b23e731b4be2"],"hasLease_ssim":["0f6e57cc-efd5-43ef-ab1c-a7e8fd7610f1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James M Shopshire"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"location_tesim":["Kenya"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. A biblical and theological perspective is offered on pastoral concerns emerging from family life in the changing society. The roles of family members which contribute to a responsible church and society are considered, along with family planning. Separation of husband from family to work in distant places for economic survival is a most serious situation impacting families in Kenya. The church has an important role on educating families to survive and reshape society. The project is summarized with recommendations for the church in Kenya."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714994447712256,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:39:27.056Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:58:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:02:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c76d3ea5-0d52-4144-a89f-238b90cb6693","accessControl_ssim":["7b174410-8790-4051-806d-c4ce1fbf80cc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The issues of intimacy and spiritual formation in supervision"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:58:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:51:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["091763db-a6ae-45c7-ab9f-21bcd853cd92"],"hasLease_ssim":["84b1fe4d-57ce-42a5-a118-1ef3c693aaab"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Tibor Chikes"],"year_tesim":["1980"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. To answer this, a six-month project involving teaching, preaching, spiritual formation, study and discussion was undertaken to help the congregation learn more about their Wesleyan heritage and reclaim relevant portions of it. Surveys at the beginning and end of the project were used to measure learning growth. A sermon series, a small group experience, and other awareness opportunities were utilized.
