The study concludes that the twenty-first century may represent an important re-founding period in the history of Episcopal women's religious communities. This project begins by exploring the theological reasoning behind this endeavor and the conflict it has brought to Christian communities that worship together, examining the definition of worship and investigating if contemporary worship is really worship or if it is an evangelism event outside the category of worship. The process of collecting data for this study was trough the case study model using information from interviews of pastors and members of various worshiping communities, examining the implementation of contemporary service 'starts.' The study includes those services that are successful and those that have not been. Churches that exclusively use a contemporary service format and churches that have added contemporary services to the worship offerings of an existing service schedule are included in the project. Each of these service types is examined independently since there are often considerable differences between these initiating congregations. While United Methodist Churches have taken preference in the study, denominations whose worship services are similar to those found in the United Methodist tradition have also been included."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126033601134592,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:21:35.692Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:08:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:37:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0c5bafa5-8023-4b6b-826f-e6c0d2b2b654","accessControl_ssim":["dbd3db31-1bf6-4bc7-90bf-eca7c8d0e7c8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Hope for those in exile: an attempt to bring new life to the Aalen-Schnaitheim United Methodist charge of southern Germany through visioning, goal-setting, and restructuring"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:08:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:27:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["22156685-7242-4e67-90f4-486660171f86"],"hasLease_ssim":["89aba3a1-1689-44a1-9859-653bd1b91b66"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Contemporary German and American authors in church growth were critiqued for their theological integrity and applied to the charge's context. The congregations were able to show increased vitality as measured by church attendance, offerings, leadership, and program. Such vitality is in marked contrast to the contemporary state of most congregations in the German Central Conference of the United Methodist Church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714874894319616,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:37:33.041Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:08:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:22:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"af1be710-b401-402d-8e62-3211294e4667","accessControl_ssim":["f949d5ee-1d37-4e4d-955e-d23de2f9211c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A footnote on dreams as a medium God uses for communication"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:08:34Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:11:09Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["849dc330-e357-4f29-8dcc-b7bbec3e9213"],"hasLease_ssim":["31f68f81-07e0-4f05-a83c-839f7f1d8ee4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Bruce G Epperly"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. There is a consideration of the influence dreams have had historically.
