This qualitative dissertation utilizes interdisciplinary archival research integrating theology, history of mission in the Middle East, diaspora studies, and anthropology to assess the role of relational networks in sending exogenous missionaries through diaspora ministries to Muslims. Arab culture operates on a web of formal and informal relational networks. This thesis discusses the universal problem of nominalism and offers a plan to reduce the high proportion of nominal Christians through the introduction of a specialized training program for pastors which concentrates on nurturing and discipling new converts to the point where they become self-motivating.  The author highlights anthropological and historical factors which have contributed to the problem of nominalism.
