These common variables that are repeated in one good preacher after another fall into three major headings: what is said (accuracy, relevance); how it is said (clarity, passion); and who says it (giftedness, credibility). Through the process of 'storyboarding,' a creative brainstorming exercise, these common variables were highlighted.  This led to the creation of an analytical tool that was used to evaluate sermons from 8 different preachers from various denominational backgrounds.  The analytical tool served to verify the effectiveness of those preachers who participated in the study. The manual, O Professor-Evangelista de Criancas: Fundamentos de uma Pedagogia Especializada (The Children's Evangelist: Fundamentals of a Specialized Pedagogy), is designed to be used as an in-service training manual.  The first section describes the project's parameters and the historical development of the Brazilian educational process.  Section 2 is the Portuguese manual, and section 3 is the English translation of that manual. The identity and characteristics of a children's Bible teacher, basic biblical/theological and pedagogical preparation, and factors which affect the growth and development of the Brazilian child are discussed. These sources reveal a learned lack of motivation, a fear of education and a tendency toward deception.  This study found solutions to these problems in secular leadership material and by examining the biblical record.  A review of this product will provide the reader with an overview of the concepts, skills and tools used in leadership and management. Each unit contains a group discussion guide.  The material can be used in nine individual sessions or in a retreat setting.  The research of the project was carried out during work with hundreds of people involved in ministry at Friendship Chapel in Jenison, Michigan.  The second set of three study units presents a psychological explanation for diversity in the church based on the personality type theory of Carl G Jung.  The final three study units present applications of psychological type theory to three areas of significant diversity in the church.
