The project is curriculum to address the problem and provide a plan for men to conquer it. The research method includes Bible, secular and Christian processes of heart and desire change. Curriculum was taught in a 5 year long addiction group. This study concludes that conquering is possible yet finds that the secular and Christian theories presented fall short of solution. Conquering can occur through application of an allegiance to Christ process. This project seeks to answer the question, 'If the church is going to participate in public dialogue in the public square, who do we send?' It is the author's view that those who the Apostle Paul describes in I Timothy 3:1-7 are the people most suited for this work. In our increasingly secular age, people of faith must be encouraged that they not only have a Biblical mandate to express their witness in the public square as Jesus calls them to be 'salt and light' in the world, but that there is also plenty of precedent in American history.
