The model introduced traditional Christian ideas of faith, grace, hope, mercy and salvation into the critical issues faced by these young adults.  This model permitted the sermon to address the tensions involved in the interactive forces and elements faced by these young adults.  This preaching model addresses contemporary issues biblically to enable young adults to hear the call to commit their lives to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  A sample group in the age range 30-35 heard four sermons developed and preached by the author.  Each participant filled out a questionnaire after the sermon to measure their responses to the critical issues and Christian themes raised in the model. This was accomplished by the analysis of a study of seven sermons preached by African American female pastors in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in the Baltimore Conference, and a workshop which focused on a model to be used for sermon preparation.  The findings called attention to the fact that women have similar and different styles of preaching, but the message is the African Americans in the church and broader community.  The results of pre- and post-testing provide adequate evidence of this project's effectiveness. The self-esteem of the congregation increased and the value of the Bible as a resource for continued growth in this area was recognized. An analysis of public relations in its secular context provides an understanding of the content and history of this art. Writings on the black church provide insight into the historic roles of black preachers in public relations.  Contemporary public relations materials were gathered through questionnaires and personal interviews with churches and pastors.  The black pastor is pinnacle in the operation of the church through analyzing and sharing feedback. This study describes the response of an African American Baptist congregation when given an opportunity to compare and contrast the preaching of the new and postmodern homiletic which is inductive, narrative, and non-authoritarian, to the preaching tradition of the African American church, which is largely deductive and authoritarian.  The most important conclusion reached in this study is that the major determinant in sermonic satisfaction was not an issue of form.
