The primary desire of the project director was to study a variety of resources on theological styles of giving a public invitation. Upon completion of this research, the project director developed a series of four sermons and invitations for four specific age groups. In so doing, the boomer-type preacher's effectiveness in designing and delivering sermons will increase greatly because of the insights, perspectives, ideals, 'life texts,' movies, music, feedback, etc. shared by the millennial team members. Research in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church indicates that a sense of belonging is related to the age of the member.  While 90 percent of those above age 65 claimed a strong loyalty and attachment to the church, only 65 percent of those below age 45 expressed a sense of belonging. An experientially oriented four-session course was developed for 42 ninth-grade confirmands and their parents.  Five instructors were trained as small group leaders.  A pre-test and post-test was administered to the confirmands and parents, and a follow-up interview was conducted by the two pastors. The theoretical work of Ivan Boszormenyi-Nagy concerning dialectic, loyalty and justice is evaluated and criticized.  He studies the family system from an existential perspective and integrates obligations to and responsibility for intergenerational loyalty commitments.  Case presentations are used to show how one pastoral therapist used IFTT from a Christian perspective.  Recognizing loyalty as the backbone of a family system, the pastoral counselor defines a family's understanding of loyalty obligations and constructs a framework which encourages psychological, emotional, and spiritual loyalty commitments to surface and be integrated in a healthy, relational context.  Understanding justice can help a pastoral counselor pray for a family's unresolved injustices.
