Newcomers must be connected with 'community' to mature and to find meaningful relationships and roles.  The project looks at theological and sociological foundations concerning assimilation of newcomers. Research via surveys done by three years of Pastor's Classes was done in order to identify trends and draw conclusions. Many losses are due to inadequate preparation and assimilation of new members.  The study includes the historical, theological, connectional, sociological, and available ministries. In the assimilation there is an assessemnt of new members, an assimilation plan to be followed, and suggestions for continued care.  The long-range goal of the model is better-equipped members.
