The author analyzed data by the practical theology method of mutual critical correlation. Volunteers expressed a value for experiencing a sense of belonging, welcoming new persons onto ministry teams, experiencing a sense of shared leadership, the importance of pastoral leadership, and strong biblical motivations for ministry. The data that were collected and analyzed revealed that the Christian believers know, believe and will trust God to heal them through these various forms of healing, but there was some hesitancy when it came to their attitudes concerning the invasive and non-invasive surgery healing. The results indicated that there was such a relationship.  In other words, more spiritual maturity meant a more positive coping with the challenges of aging.  Spiritual maturity was determined by measuring a set of spiritual attitudes and spiritual practices. It develops a research instrument (the Religious Orientations Questionnaire), which is given to a population that has Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventories on file.  The clients answer essay questions on satisfaction in living, their understanding of faith, God and the helpfulness of pastoral counseling and submit follow-up questionnaires.  The project reports on discussions with the pastoral counselors of the clients and draws practical implications.  The study concludes that differing religious orientations can be documented between clients with histrionic and compulsive patterns.  Female clients of all personality groups score closer to histrionic religious patterns.  No other gender-related findings can be ascertained. Part II describes research conducted by means of convenience sampling using a 103-item questionnaire among 451 active Protestants and Roman Catholics fifty-five years of age and older in a midwestern community.  Factor analysis determined five dimensions of religiosity named orthodoxy, personal faith, treatment, satisfaction with life, and dissatisfaction with life. Comparison and correlation of factors and items found a positive attitude about life and more so about congregations.  Men want to feel more useful to their congregations. Forty subjects, mean age 65.85 years, 20 left and 20 right hemisphere stroke-damaged were administered the Religious Inventory Questionnaire (RIQ, Harsch, 1980) to assess feelings about self, God and communicating with God; and the MMPI to assess psychological pathology.  The results indicated that the left hemisphere damaged patients were consistently more negative than right hemisphere damaged patients on all three levels of the RIQ, however, without pathological levels.
