The project explores such bias and oppression and assesses women's responses through analysis of James Baldwin's play, The Amen Corner, and interviews with African American Presbyterian ordained and lay women. The research discloses that women do not adequately understand the nature and ramifications of sexism in African American Presbyterian life.
