Associations have been very important theologically and historically because they reflect the cooperative nature of Baptists.  They are an underutilized resource in Latin America due to the lack of printed material.  The study guide is prepared in English; however, it is also available in Spanish. The author, therefore, sought for healthy models among growing churches in such settings and studied their common characteristics. Twenty-one possible growth dynamics were identified and eleven churches were studied to ascertain which of these dynamics were common to them and to what degree they might account for growth. Fifteen characteristics were found to contribute to the growth of churches and nine of these emerged as significant. Jeremiah's exilic image and Jesus' command 'to make disciples' were the theological rationale. Chapter 3 presents an integrated (indigenous and missionary) education, which the researcher terms palmedic.  Chapter 4 was facilitated through a study group, a questionnaire, interviews, workshops (one in Liberia and another at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary).  The researcher's analysis called for commitment, envisioning a community shared-story approach to Christian education. The project observed the effects of a shared stewardship of lay and professional preachers in one rural Baptist congregation.  The professional preacher developed a ten-week curriculum for the training of lay preachers who then participated in the pulpit ministry of the congregation.  The effects of that shared stewardship on themselves, the professional preacher and the congregation were observed through the use of personal journals, surveys and interviews.
