In 2011, Liberty Hill Baptist Church took a step toward racial reconciliation by joining the Southern Baptist Convention. Parishioners, some of whom migrated from the South, expressed concerns about joining 'that racist organization.' However, despite their concerns, Liberty Hill voted overwhelmingly to join the SBC. Buried in the pile of 1,145 resolutions from 1845 to 2017 are resolutions specifically impacting African Americans. These resolutions expand the narrative of Southern Baptist Convention life, culture, and faith and reveal God's redemptive power that has allowed the Southern Baptist Convention to evolve from an organization with a connection to slavery to one of the most diverse conventions in the United States."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716858702594048,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:09:04.948Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:12:33Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:28:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f5cd9f9c-0cca-4e00-8fce-a2def0e3f20d","accessControl_ssim":["e438ef15-3b31-47ff-bb56-37fcd3e25934"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing a Family Outreach Strategy for First Baptist Church of Verdigris, Verdigris, Oklahoma"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:12:32Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:09:05Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["29e34cad-a829-4b4a-851b-e6232cae2078"],"hasLease_ssim":["55d90c5a-0b05-4750-a96f-16c59beaf8f1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jeffrey Farmer"],"year_tesim":["2018"],"location_tesim":["Oklahoma","United States"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mark A Boyd"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with families","Baptists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to develop an outreach strategy for First Baptist Church of Verdigris, Oklahoma (FBCV), in order to reach families with school age children. The project director led selected members of FBCV to develop a multifaceted family outreach strategy to reach families with school age children in the surrounding community. The project director explored different family models of ministry for evangelistic church growth and revitalization. Next, the project director collected and evaluated the demographic data in a one, three and five-mile radius along with the internal annual church profile date of FBCV. Then the project director interviewed pastors of growing churches that were similar in culture and size to FBCV prior to their breakout in reaching families with children. Finally, utilizing the resources gathered, the project director and the outreach strategy team met for six sessions and developed a multi-faceted family outreach strategy designed to reach families with school age children for FBCV. The project director presented the strategy to the church members of FBCV for acceptance who formally accepted the strategy in a special called business meeting on November 05, 2017."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721861059182592,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:28:35.567Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:12:32Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:53:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b7814c09-f96a-4860-ace9-11a401d8a4db","accessControl_ssim":["68292365-0328-4144-a821-a38643df662f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A Revitalization Strategy for FirstNSB A Family Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:12:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:25:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4e6900b0-ce04-4bde-997e-072e6bb30212"],"hasLease_ssim":["ce968646-bd33-46b3-a10a-ce71daeff9b2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Adam Hughes"],"year_tesim":["2018"],"location_tesim":["Florida","United States"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brandon Luke McKinney"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church renewal--Baptists","Baptists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to develop a revitalization strategy for First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach, Florida (FirstNSB).
