Most church planting ministries seek to establish mature churches that are autonomous. However, some are maintaining a relationship with daughter churches, exercising control over them as 'one church meeting in several locations'.  This phenomenon has been called a branch church or satellite church ministry.  This project examines the ministries of three influential Baptist churches that are involved in satellite church ministry. This is intriguing in the light of Baptist polity and the missiological principle of indigeneity.  The project is an attempt to discern the extent to which this method of ministry is transferrable for larger churches with metropolitan ministries.  Is it possible that the unity of a particular church may be maintained though the church meets in multiple locations? Newcomers must be connected with 'community' to mature and to find meaningful relationships and roles.  The project looks at theological and sociological foundations concerning assimilation of newcomers. Research via surveys done by three years of Pastor's Classes was done in order to identify trends and draw conclusions. Six monologue/sermons were written and presented for worship and to other church groups.  The goal was to present Peck historically and spiritually within the context of marginal personality. Each presentation was video-taped and critiqued by lay and clergy groups.  This genre revealed dramatic limitations which led to the writing of a seventh, much longer drama which added a narrator and bit parts. The thesis of this paper is twofold: 1) that a trained and working pastoral relations committee in a congregationally governed local church can be effective in resolving conflict between a congregation and pastor; 2) that judicatory personnel can be third-party consultants who train and work with the pastoral relations committee in collaborative intervention. The study brings together the disciplines of theology, history and applied social sciences to analyze and propose appropriate interventions into conflict.  It recognizes the particular context of a Baptist congregation and the polity of its denomination. The sessions led the churches either to ask for or to refrain from seeking Southern Baptist help. Observable and statistical data demonstrated that the use of the instrument aided churches in informed, high-quality decision-making. Church growth is a product of the cooperative endeavor of a pastor and laymen.  For this project the pastors' Church Study Committee and the laymen's local Church Growth Committee were organized.  Seminars were held and questionnaires were prepared to identify church growth factors and their effect in the local churches.  The pastors' committee evaluated the questionnaires. The results were shared with the Church Growth Committee in each local church. Research included the reading of relevant books, the administration of a questionnaire and interviews and the use of inventive  instruments. Trainings given to the laity and their reflections and opinions helped actualize the project.  Consultations and studies with the professional pastors played a vital role in the work.  The project removed many of the doubts of the laity regarding their roles in their churches.  It also moved the pastors to accommodate their laity in church ministry.
