This project is based on a theological conviction that the gospel is the center of the story of the Bible. It argues, therefore, that preaching the gospel and expository preaching must not be separated. This thesis examines the obvious pattern of God's redemptive history that unites both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The lesson plan is stimulated by recent literature in hermeneutics and homiletics. The purpose of this project was to enhance the basic knowledge of the Bible and facilitate the spiritual growth of new believers through implementing a narrative Bible Study program at Calvary Korean Baptist Church in Los Gatos, California.  The ten-session course, designed and led by the project director, helped the participants gain an understanding of the main biblical principles. The research, following a literature review, engaged qualitative methodology through personal interviews guided by four research questions. These questions explored the participants' beliefs about inerrancy, their approaches to difficult texts, their methods of interpretation which were largely individualistic, and their reliance upon God's guidance in understanding texts. Using a Bible written in a commoner-friendly language is essential for the effective work of contemporary ministry. However, those churches that are willing to make the change from the KJV to a contemporary version are faced with a lack of guidelines and principles to help them navigate the transition. In an effort to fill this void, this study examined the change process of a Baptist congregation which transitioned from the King James Version to a modern-language Bible as its primary worship text. The findings confirmed that transitioning from the antiquated wording of the KJV to a contemporary-language version was beneficial to the members and the ministries of the congregation. Biblical wisdom literature also provides guidance in navigating life situations (Roland Murphy, James Crenshaw).  The current study hypothesizes that high emotional intelligence will assist clergy in navigating critical leadership situations.  To test this hypothesis, twenty-six pastors were administered the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory.  A group profile was generated, and some findings were significant.  Results have implications for hiring, evaluating, and training pastors. This project aimed at encouraging Scripture reading in the Sunday worship service of C\u0026MA churches. It involved fifteen C\u0026MA pastors who used a three-month segment of a four-year Bible reading schedule, developed for this project. Each Sunday they read the assigned reading and material given to them to help them prepare for and introduce the reading. They then filled out a questionnaire, which attempted to evaluate their reactions and ideas concerning the three-month implementation period. They also filled out a short questionnaire three months after they completed the implementation period. This questionnaire sought to identify if they were still reading Scripture regularly in worship and why they were or were not continuing in this biblical practice.
