A cohort of Episcopalians and members of a Messianic Jewish synagogue in the Fort Worth-Dallas area who associated in worship and fellowship are examined. The study considers theological issues concerning Jewish identity in the Church and their place in the economy of salvation. In addition to the author, eighteen pastors participated in four small groups. Individually, we prepared by reading the Gospel using lectio divina.  Our question was:  'Can I/we create a guided study of the Gospel of John which will enable  clergy and committed lay persons to claim a loving friendship with Jesus and engagement in the Christian story which will renew their ministries in times of change and conflict?' It results in the creation of a home Bible study that provides the believer with material that engages the unbeliever with the saving claims to Christ.    The project analyzes the biblical teachings of Jesus concerning discipleship as evangelism, studies the influence of Charles G. The curriculum designed for this project was a vital component of the institutional disciple-making efforts of the Memorial Church of Christ (Livonia, MI), a congregation firmly committed to the vision and values of the Restoration Movement (also known as the Stone-Campbell Movement). Pre-course questionnaires/interviews were used to gather information from ABF attendees, other large church evangelism leaders and Chapel pastors.  Findings provided singificant content and structure for the curriculum.  Six Sunday lessons were presented in the ABFs.  Each lesson addressed the biblical mindset of personal outreach and methods for verbally representing Christ.  ABF participants and teachers responded to a post-course questionnaire.  Results showed appreciation for the course but need for more discussion time. The goal of the project was to equip lay leaders with practical resources to enable them to serve as Bible study leaders.  The project participants were trained in the use of various Bible study materials to use with small groups.  Prayer walks were a vital part of the strategy project participants used in preparing the neighborhood to be receptive to a Bible study.  The results differed from what was expected; only three small groups were started. A series of seven sessions using guided imagery revealed that this method did make the members more aware of God in their daily lives and activities, in relationships, in worship, and in their resolution of conflict.
