In this passage God promised that if his people would humble themselves, pray, seek his face, and turn from their wicked ways, he would in turn forgive and restore them to a proper relationship with himself. Matthew"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Exploratory reserach was conducted to generate a descriptive summary of the coaching philosophies within the sport of football. A literature review and survey revealed two primary philosophies coaches have employed: principle- and performance-based. The researcher investigated the principle-based approach, primarily because of the values these coaches shared. The principle-oriented group contained a subset that articulated a biblical focus. A series of interviews was conducted to discover what connection biblically-based coaches might have with the leadership of Christ. The results suggested that coaching could function as a form of discipleship. This led to an exegetical investigation of the Gospel of Matthew. The result was the identification of a set of values and practices that helped Christian coaches better connect their faith with their profession. It is based on 1 Thessalonians 1:5, where Paul lists five components of winning speech: the word of God, power, passion, lifestyle, and the Holy Spirit.
