Mark","Spiritual healing"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This paper examines how the traditional Ghanaian worldview has been contextualized by grass-roots Christians in Ghana, and further by Ghanaian Pentecostals, and how this has been exported, adapted, and refined from Ghana across national and continental lines to its diaspora. I hope to address some key questions regarding Ghanaian deliverance practices (at home and abroad) and integrate my findings into ministry, whether to Africans or anyone. Some of these questions include: “What drives Ghanaians to seek deliverance? How have they, historically, sought to deal with the spirit realm? How do they currently seek to deal with it? Joel"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Upon returning to two-hundred-year-old, county-seat church, the new lead pastor and a diverse group of twelve members worked to discern God's vision for the congregation. Two years on, this project was implemented to evaluate and refocus ownership of God's vision by the congregation. Using congregation behavioral surveys, a worship series based on Joel, and a balcony team (congregation's leaders and the lead pastor-- who served as consultant) planned, implemented and evaluated the congregational members' ownership of God's mission, vision and core values. A VisionWork tool evaluated the vitality and fruitfulness of existing ministries and created a refocused passion and revitalized mission to serve the community beyond the church's walls. This model involves seven biblical factors that function together in bringing God's people back to him in transformation and restoration. Chapter 1 introduces the thesis in the context of the background study and methodology and lays the foundation for the research dissertation. Chapter 2 exegetes the specific verses in Joel 1 and 2 that provide the model for Spiritual Awakening. Chapter 3 investigates whether the seven factors were present in the Four Great Awakenings in Early America from 1740 to the beginning of the 20th Century. Chapter 4 records the quantitative data from a survey of Texas Baptist Churches in the North Central Texas Council of Governments 16 county region and evaluates the critical interviews with the five members of the Solemn Assembly Team.
