This is in response to the churches' clamor for enhancement training for the leaders of the region. The primary reason for the study is to help the researcher develop a viable preaching curriculum for training church workers for his own denomination in the province of LA Union. The secondary purpose of this project is to develop a preaching curriculum for Conservative Baptist Seminary - Asia. The purpose of this project was to discover the importance of space in a church's ministry of hospitality. Twenty-four persons from the congregation attended a six-week course during which they completed four assessments that were designed to measure their knowledge and skills in offering hospitality and evaluating the quality of the church's place for extending hospitality. This project studied the association between prayer for non-Christians and evangelistic attitudes and behaviors. Does a directed focus upon evangelistic prayer increase intrinsic  evangelistic attitudes and behaviors toward people without faith? Does prayer increase receptivity towards non-Christians -- an attitude change that leads to behavior change? Research focused upon qualitative analysis in case study methodology. The program uses a counseling methodology based on a biblical understanding of the heart.  Practical and theological implications of the program are presented.  The thesis develops a biblical foundation for counseling in the areas of marriage and divorce and presents case studies to show how the concept of heart counseling can be applied.  Four women were selected and trained to participate in an initial implementation of the program.  The selection procedure and the training regimen are described. Building upon a theoretical base, four case studies were conducted allowing present cross-cultural workers to evaluate classroom and seminar training in a variety of areas and to list areas in which training is needed. The resulting model is of a school with a strong emphasis upon cross-cultual training in the regular curriculum, on-campus short courses, and external seminars. The project starts with a case study describing the situation in one small church.  This is followed by an explanation of what happened, resources used, and an evaluation.  A detailed outline of the process followed is included in the last half of the paper. Special attention is given to a research-action project of the Alban Institute.  Insights of three area ministers (denominational personnel who serve as resources to local churches and pastors) concerning matters of long tenure are then summarized from interviews.  The main body of the work involves case studies of five pastors whose tenure in a given location has been from 7 to 14 years.  Written materials provided by each are examined and compared, after which highlights from personal interviews are reported.
