The proposed model was tested with five selected test training groups and evaluated by trainee-evaluators of the same test groups.  The result was positive. An experientially oriented four-session course was developed for 42 ninth-grade confirmands and their parents.  Five instructors were trained as small group leaders.  A pre-test and post-test was administered to the confirmands and parents, and a follow-up interview was conducted by the two pastors. His Preces privatae quotidianae (Daily Private Devotions) has nurtured the prayer lives of generations of Christians. Its rich use of scripture, patristic material, and early liturgical material also makes it a wonderful text from which to teach classes on prayer within the local church. The project demonstrates a 3-step process for training teachers to deal with three Bible passages: 1)interpret the text by analyzing literary characteristics and its literary and historical contexts; 2) explore the goal of Christian education and the learners' life experience, establishing a process for applying the biblical message accordingly; 3) teaching the Bible lesson by examining theories of learning, principles and methods of teaching, and designing a teaching/learning process compatible with literary genres and goals of Christian education. This project designed sample lesson plans relevant to the experience of Chinese Americans for three genres: Narrative, Wisdom, and Prophetic. A workshop was developed and conducted by Wade Robertson for the leadership team of the Friendship Baptist Fellowship of Pocola, Oklahoma. The six hours and fifteen minutes of the workshop covered the areas of: God's purpose for the world; biblical foundations for teamwork; a holisitic system of Christian education; ministry alignment; forming people-centered goals; and developing a total church strategy for making disciples. The project objectives were brought into focus through the teaching workshop lectures and learning activities. The participants filled out pre-/post-workshop questionnaires, designed to show change in understanding of the project concept and change in perspective. They also wrote an evaluation. An outside observer visited the workshop and gave an evaluation. The primary objective of the project was achieved through the team's voluntary forming of an age-group team.
