The project involved research in the field of disciple making in various contexts. The project director developed lesson plans and led the equipping seminar. Fourteen adult LIFE group teachers participated. Seminar participants evaluated their own spiritual vitality through the use of a personal spiritual inventory. A set of guiding questions was designed to lead teachers to plan class experiences. The guiding questions were pre-tested, interviews were conducted, and the guiding questions were refined. A teacher used the guiding questions to create and lead an adult class. The resulting class was observed and evaluated. Follow-up interviews evaluated the guiding questions in diverse settings. The problem addressed the tendency of people to observe rather than to participate in ministry due to their lack of knowledge and understanding of spiritual gifts. It developed an equipping ministry launch that consisted of a twelve-week study of spiritual gifts using a preaching series, Sunday school lessons and small-group studies. The launch helped attendees gain knowledge and understanding of spiritual gifts and of their use in ministry. The project focus was to develop a collaborative model on how to educate the community on the illnesses and symptoms associated with homelessness when internal church conflicts erupt. The mixed methodology was used to obtain the results through pre-test, post-test, questionnaires, personal interviews, and a focus group. The findings suggested that most participants did respond to being educated on the illnesses associated with homelessness. Qualitative and quantitative research methods included pre-assessment and post-assessment questionnaires, personal interviews, various inventories, researcher observation, dialogue, reflection tools, vocabulary tests, and discernment. To maximize long-term retention, active learning engaged experiential metaphors and embodied practices. A survey revealed that Top Gun was instrumental in the respondents' lives and made an instant change in their spiritual disciplines and in their relationships with their families, work, and Christian service. Unfortunately, the survey also revealed that many men fall back into old habits through time, thus showing the need for ongoing relationships, discipleship, and accountability.
