Development involved assimilating the information to be taught and utilizing a teaching method which would help the participants remember and appropriate the knowledge later.  Implementation included five two-hour sessions using word models which were defined, illustrated and supported by Scripture.  High retention of the information proved this method to be an effective means of helping people remember. After establishing a PPRC in a local church and identifying the need for a training process, such a process was developed. Four churches in Penn Northeast Conference, UCC, agreed to go through the process to test its effectiveness and each church evaluated the process.  The project showed the process worked. The author seeks to give clarity to a theological basis for Christian motivations in giving.  The general thesis of this project is derived from biblical material.  The author argues that the mandates for Christian discipleship are necessarily inclusive of the biblical principles of giving. Twenty-three lectures were presented in Bible study sessions in a congregational context. It is supported by a theology of ministry (biblical witness and historical overview) and an exploration of the nature of such programs.  A model of training supervision is suggested.  The collective feedback data of the trainers, a clergy peer observer, and the author based on his observation of video tapes of the sessions were used to evaluate the program's validity in increasing church members' self-confidence, pastoral identity, and competence as providers of pastoral care. The course, entitled, 'Women and Jesus, Women and Paul,' is an attempt, using the historical-critical method of biblical scholarship, to trace the growth of misogynism, both biblical and societal, from its origin in Greek philosophy, to its culmination in the pastoral epistles. In the process, the example and teachings of Jesus are studied, as well as the writings of the Pauline corpus, both authentic and pseudo.  The content of the research is extensively detailed, and the method of instruction outlined and discussed.
