It examines how these shifts were interpreted to adult Lutherans through worship education materials prepared by the American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church in America between 1960 and 1987.  The project is an adult instruction course, based on the liturgy and using an action-reflection method of instruction. Part 1 examines such issues as apodictic and casuistic law with relation to the decalogue and covenant code.  Included is a study of rebirth and discussion of treaty and covenant and the social implications of the covenant with respect to settlement and conquest.  The conclusion emphasizes the uniqueness of Israelite religion.  Part 2 addresses the Mosaic and Davidic covenants and is a 'walk through the Bible' for lay discussion in a beginner's class. The methodology included a 60-minute videotape documentary dealing with historical, psychological, medical, ethical, and biblical material broken into seven study periods.  Booklets for leader and students give additional information.  Discussion starters and open-ended questions are provided to facilitate dialogue.  Two groups were studied.  Measurements before and after the course indicate significant positive shifts in attitudes, perceptions, and value systems by all participants. Questionnaires were given before and after the use of the study guide to test its effectiveness. The questionnaires studied a wide range of factors, from social attitude to church involvement.  They also examined attitudes toward the denomination and its leadership.  The factors that tend to correlate with rejection of the new hymnal are: white, male, irregular worship attender, and non-committee member. Six participants completed the process using Frederick Buechner's autobiographies, 'The Sacred Journey' and 'Now and Then,' as models for personal theological reflection.  There were six sessions and one follow-up. Its purpose was to engage people of faith in significant encounters with the other, as presented through these different communities of faith.  Elements of the study included lectures about the history and founding personalities of the religions; class discussion and personal sharing; experiences with food; meetings with spiritual leaders and believers; and opportunities of worship from each tradition.  In addition we received materials and documents pertinent to our own faith tradition. The material emphasized history, doctrine, and polity.  It was designed for use by youth and adults in both group and independent study settings.  Research from the fields of documentary, creative, and objective studies was utilized in preparing the material.  The work was submitted to a panel of six judges from diverse backgrounds for evaluation. Korean scholars to date follow an old tradition which derives 'diakonos' from 'dia' (through) and 'konis' (dust.)  But this derivation is a case of confusion of 'diakonio' (pulvere, to in the dust) with 'diakoneo' (to serve.)  The author exegetes Acts 6 discussing the Grecian Jews, the Hebrews, and the Samaritans. The thesis that stewardship is a 'Christ-believer partnership in redeemed life' is developed through five worship experiences and five training sessions for the stewardship council.  Parables, in Luke's gospel, interpreted by means of the literary criticism praxis approach, which utilizes a case study method, gives shape to the educational framework.
