The completion of the project required extensive research in the fields of biblical discipleship couched in the context of Atkins, First Baptist Church. The project director studied the pirnciples from Scripture, read extensively from noted authors in the field of discipleship, considered various discipleship models, consulted experts, and sought the advice and assistance of other pastors. The discipleship director assembled a strategy leadership team from among the members of the church for the purpose of crafting a strategy for the context of First Baptist Church. The strategy was completed and presented to the church in a regular business session. He pointed out that caring for both physical and spiritual needs should be considered together. He prepared two types of questionnaires and divided the children into two groups in order to find basic information about them and their concerns. Then he ran the 'Hope Gilijabi' program during weekends to let them know and experience cring through Christian values. The workshops addressed the issues that hindered effective collaboration, team building, trust building, Myers Briggs Type Indicator and personal and spiritual development. It demonstrated a need for training and increased quality of performance in Christian education in Latin America.  Responding to an apparent lack of training, it evaluated and determined curriculum needs for a Master of Arts in Christian Education (MA/CE) degree at CATS.  Needs assessment instruments were used to determine key needs.  These evaluated current practice and identified ways to improve performance effectiveness.
