God has commanded Christians to love others.  Love must be demonstrated through behavior, and behaviors are learned through opportunity and practice.  This project gives participants a format which facilitates such practice.  The major method to accomplish the thesis is a devotional guide which daily highlights a characteristic of love, and provides opportunity for participants to contract ways to demonstrate that characteristic. Methodological and hermeneutical stances of the author are discussed as well as the mixed responses and concerns engendered by the pastor's efforts. Free moral will is claimed by liberal religion to be a part of our human dignity.  Modern evolutionary theory poses a serious challenge to this claim.  The place of human moral freedom is called into question.  The problem is to construct an adequate, meaningful doctrine of free moral will which is 'true' within an evolutionary framework.  The theologies of Ralph W Burhoe and Henry N Wieman are reviewed to discover their doctrines of free moral will in light of evolutionary theory.  They are found to be inadequate for liberal religion.
