of the gospel in Conservative Baptist Association churches of Washington state"],"abstract_tesim":["The objective of this research project is to do a statistic analysis of the understanding of the gospel in the Conservative Baptist Association (CBA) churches of Washington State with application as to how to better communicate the gospel to its congregants.  The survey of Washington State congregations will seek to validate the hypothesis that the gospel is understood as in the lordship salvation tradition rather than free grace tradition.  The purpose of the research project is embedded in the question, 'what is the gospel and how is it understood by people in the pews?' In order to test the hypothesis and answer the question, this researcher did the following: developed two separate survey questionnaires, one survey for the pastors of Washington State CBA churches and one survey for the congregants of Washington State CBA churches. The two surveys were then evaluated for areas of agreement and disagreement. However, there is the possibility that, over time, an established church may become more influenced by other primary factors other than the gospel. Consequently, these churches will find themselves needing to rediscover the 'main thing' of the gospel as its primary, driving influence. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the visionary process of developing a distinctively gospel-driven ministry in the established local church, with a focus on my present call to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, Mississippi. The following research questions guided this study: 1. What role will leadership play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 2. What role will theology play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 3. The student worked in an inner-city church for two years during which three faith-sharing groups were established.  Through repeated development of such groups, this method proved to be very effective in communicating the essentials of the gospel.  Such a method of outreach must be conducted by a local congregation whose priority to evangelism is motivated by the evangel itself. He used the qualitative research methodology to guide the project. The result of the study was the discovery of twelve important elements of a mentoring relationship. The author learned that these elements, when consistently emphasized, should lead to a gospel-centered, grace-oriented mentoring strategy that will avoid the extremes of cheap grace and moralism.
