It demonstrates the effectiveness of these methods in helping adults integrate belief with life experience.  Such integration is demonstrated through the writings of participants which exhibit four criteria: sensibility, insight or awareness, conviction and congruence between meaning and feeling.  A fifth criterion, release of energy or action, is not present or not determined by the evaluation methods of the study. This process focused on the call of God with the intention that at the end of the experience participants would define a specific call of God to which they could respond. This project assumed that the articulation of a call would foster discipleship growth. The process proposed did not produce the desired results. The author concluded that 'the call of God is found in the needs of humankind and is embraced in the faithful response to those needs by a group'.
