In this paper, the author addresses the question, 'How does reframing volunteer to disciple impact and revitalize the teaching ministry of the church?' An estimated 1,000 English-language congregations are serving transient people all over the world. It is imperative the international church approach disciple making with its transient nature in mind.   This study investigated the nature of effective disciple making in transient communities. Four concepts were identified. Transient churches must cultivate a disciple-making ethos. Transient churches need to maintain a transient community consciousness. Intentional movement in disciple making is absolutely critical to effectiveness. To achieve the goals for this project, the project director utilized an equipping model. The first phase of the project involved researching many different resources in the field of discipleship, disciple-making, and spiritual disciplines. The project director utilized these resources to produce the lessons used to equip the selected group. The second phase was to develop lesson plans to teach in a seminar format. The final phase of the project involved implementing the seminar for the training of the selected group. The seminar consisted of an introduction session, ten lessons during five sessions, and a concluding session. The seminar was conducted on five Sunday evenings. To capture the lived experience, in-depth phenomenological interviews were used. Building on knowledge relative to biblical teachings, historical church discipleship, and contemporary literature on this subject, this study advocates the use of three phases of teaching to accomplish this goal. These are the study of a contemporary catechism; the development of Life Groups that incorporate Bible study, fellowship, and service; and a mentoring ministry that pairs spiritually older believers with spiritually younger believers. Pastors need to integrate preaching into their own Christian discipleship in order for preaching to have an impact on their congregation. Through this project I propose that preaching can enhance the Christian discipleship of the pastor through the use of Incarnational Exegesis, EPIC, Authentic and Integrated Preaching.
