Research centers on the history of antisemitism in the church and on works by Jewish and Christian post-Holocaust theologians. The method of this project is accomplished through the analysis of data collected through library research, a questionnaire, and interviews. The final document examines each element of the four major phases of the Catholic initiatory process by considering academic-year scheduling constraints and its effects on students, and by describing needs of student-aged persons seeking membership in the Catholic Church, and provides a flexible methodology for implementing the first phase, the period of inquiry, in a university setting. The ten-week program consisted of a combination of group activity and lecture.  The group completed an open-ended narrative using selected vocabulary words.  Each member received five vocabulary words to contribute to the story line in successive group order using one word at a time. Lectures consisted of specific age-related topics of puberty. Descriptive survey methodology and statistical evaluations were used with an experimental and control group. The methodology consists of five parts: the description of Jewish-Christian intermarriage in the United States; a discussion of the chavurah movement in the contemporary Jewish scene; a history of the founding of the Interfaith Chavurah for Liberal Judaism in Greater Hartford; the synthesis of a goal attainment model based on the works of Donald Metz and Talcott Parsons; and, the account of the ICLJ's first year and analysis of its achievements.  Although the ICLJ was founded as a conventional congregation, its identity sometimes became ambivalent and bordered on an informal support group. The thesis draws on the conviction that remembering will play a significant part in the grief process and will make it possible to hope.  If such is the case, then our funeral rituals must provide environments of care in which remembering within the context of the Christian story might take place. The conclusion reached is that an imaginative use of the Order of Christian Funerals does indeed offer scope for remembering. To make the rite meaningful and relevant to the culture of the Hmong the writer used the process of inculturation.  Research on the meaning and method of inculturation helped the writer to discover how to apply it in the case of the Hmong people.  The writer also researched Hmong history through extensive reading, personal interviews of Hmong leaders at Holy Family Parish and participation in their religious and social activities.
