The small group model includes both a didactic and a creative writing component. The adolescents, in addition to being very expressive about sexuality, gained understanding about the Bible and about sexuality. In order to assist the Pillar of Fire to pursue its purpose with greater ministry effectiveness, this study sought to identify and test receptivity to a purpose-driven organizational restructuring. Missionaries and colonialists alienated Gikuyu lands and also rejected their traditional religion and culture. Field research included questionnaires and group interviews in rural and urban churches of the Roman Catholic Church, Presbyterian Church of East Africa and the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa. The research discloses elements of Agikuyu traditional religion and culture could be integrated into Christianity making it truly relevant. Jesus Christ can be appreciated as ancestor, prophet, liberator, medicine man, and sacrificial lamb. An analysis was done of researcher's failure to impact presbytery. The researcher then built foundation for new mission work of Presbytery's Partnership Program based on insights from researcher's ineffectiveness as change agent. New project analyzed presbytery's mission approach learned from history of missions in Western Christianity.
